The Healthcare Gap in Obaria Beach

In isolated fishing settlements like Obaria Beach, geographical and economic barriers often put basic healthcare entirely out of reach. High morbidity rates, coupled with limited access to maternal care and preventative medicine, leave families highly vulnerable to treatable conditions.

For many of our 4,000 residents, a minor illness can quickly escalate into a medical emergency simply because professional care is too far away or too expensive. We are working to change this reality.

Our Objective

“To dismantle barriers to medical access by providing affordable, high-quality healthcare and comprehensive preventative services directly to the Obaria Beach community.”

How We Deliver Care

Bero Ngima CBO believes that quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege. We execute our medical and preventative health strategy through four vital initiatives:

Community Clinic Operations
01

Community Clinic Operations

We serve as the frontline of medical care by operating a dedicated, low-cost community health center. Our facility provides essential services including general medical consultations, vital maternal and pediatric care, a stocked pharmacy, and minor emergency triage. This ensures families have a reliable place to turn when illness strikes.

Free Medical Camps
02

Free Medical Outreach Camps

For those who cannot reach the clinic, we bring healthcare directly to them. By organizing periodic Free Medical Camps (FMCs), we are able to provide comprehensive health screenings, administer treatments for common illnesses, and offer critical referral services for complex cases right in the heart of the community.

Vaccination and Prevention
03

Disease Prevention & Immunization

Preventative medicine saves lives. In strategic partnership with government health departments, we facilitate vital childhood immunization drives. Furthermore, we spearhead aggressive prevention and awareness programs specifically targeting the region’s most prevalent threats: malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS.

Health Education
04

Community Health Education

Knowledge is the first line of defense against disease. We host targeted, interactive educational sessions focusing on essential nutrition, maternal wellness, reproductive health, and hygiene. By equipping residents with accurate medical information, we empower them to make proactive decisions about their family’s health.

Measuring Our Impact

We track our clinical data and community outreach metrics to ensure our medical interventions are actively saving lives and improving overall health.

Significant reductions in maternal and under-five child mortality rates.

Thousands of patients successfully treated through our clinic and outreach camps.

Increased community immunization coverage protecting against preventable diseases.

Measurable shifts in proactive health-seeking behaviors across the community.
